I didn't know there was so much up state New York! :)I always thought that up state New York is about 1 or 2 hour (tops) from New York City but there is a whole lot more up here. And it's beautiful! Geneva has about 13.000 residents. The center of town is very small, couple of streets with old style homes. It's located on Seneca Lake , upstate New York and the there a few of these "slivers" of lakes therefore is called Finger Lake Region. There are a lot of wineries surrounding the lake, its ...

We had a nice, quiet, chilled out day. So relaxed, in fact, that I completely forgot that we had any plans, but finally realised we were going to Scott's parents (pre-Thanksgiving) when he had his coat and shoes on and I was still in my PJ’s.
Had my first taste of pumpkin pie and spent the evening chatting about all the Thanksgiving food preparations and what to expect tomorrow.
Waffles for breakfast again! Today we went for a walk up to a really pretty waterfall and had lunch by the lake in Ithaca, sandwiches with ham, cheese, pickles, salami and mustard (which I made btw). Then a little drive up to Scott's parents place with a detour around his home town, was cool to see the farm where he grew up.
Met Scott’s family and had fish and chips for dinner, just like home! Quiet evening in front of Fox News and making plans for the next week.
... heading north through the finger lakes. The trees are just beginning to change (maybe 15% of peak) and that was nice. I was amazed by the number of wineries as we drove through the finger lakes region. We really don't need Nancy Pelosi OR her wineries. The drive was really nice, and we are not scheduling as many miles per day as we have in the past. It was my bright idea to sample local color for lunch, so we stopped in downtown Pen Yan NY, at a ...
Skaneateles, New York, United States captnoindustry... they were too heavy so we only took one bag. Bob and William are are our ice God saviors. (Post a picture later of Carmen with the Gods). We traveled along Rt. 104 today which was really flat with a wide shoulder. It was boring, there was nothing on it, but we made up for time on it. We ended up in Sodus where we met Laurie at the Dollar General store. She made some phone calls to try to find a place where we could spend the night. She ...
Sodus, New York, United States bicycle_affair2We arrived at M&T's cottage on Seneca Lake Friday evening after a nice dinner with my Dad and Lorraine. Evidently we followed the rain all the way from Cleveland because we had very little rain on our drive and the visitors from the East had rain ...
Penn Yan, New York, United States sgiordano... today were products of the countries fascination with my two wheeled friend. After the great tour we had a fantastic lunch at Whals Drive In, great hamburgers and "Root Beer Floats". Even though we had 94 miles into a head wind that was 10 to 15 mph, and we got to climb almost 5,000 feet it was still a wonderful although long day.

Fairport, New York, United States blordDun Dun Dunnn Dun Dun Dun Dunnn Dun Hey Hey Heyyyyyyy GOODBYEEEEEEE Watching George W. Bush leave on his stupid helicopter while crowds booed and occasionally chanted sounds of praise made my little American heart swell. But I digress... 13 days from now (Cuban missile crisis anyone??) I will be boarding a jet-plane for Singapore, with a brief stopover in Hong Kong. This will mark the start of my journey, my walkabout I guess, if you have to put it in ...
Ontario, New York, United States sunnybum86We actually had to get Alexis rolling Sunday morning in order to take her shopping for last minute dorm supplies so we could get on the road for the 6-7 hour drive back to Burlington. Check out Emily in the morning...hee hee. I bought Alexis some half vanilla and half chocolate cookies because earlier in the trip she said she felt like one because of her tan lines from riding in the sun. In the group shot, Alexis is helping Emily smile because she is too tired to do it herself!!
