It was a long night with the storm having us worried. Anyway we get up and going as today we are heading into Oklahoma City then onto to Red Rock State Park about an hour west of the city.

Today's main stop is the Cowboy Museum. As usual we plan to be done in 2hours and it ends up taking us nearly twice as long. But while we are there we find out from a local a great place to buy a good belt for ...

... city but unfortunately no life. As a result we decided to head off before lunch to our next destination. We stopped off at a Route 66 Museum just west of Oklahoma. It was really interesting to see the history of the main road of America and the way it influenced migration in the country. We also visited a car museum featuring many of the cars that would have traveled along route 66. ...

Well a great day. I missed the opportunity yesterday of saying I was 24 hours from Tulsa but anyway we rode through Tulsa having again used an off road section. Bit tricky on half a ton of Harley but lucky I am big and strong. We were heading towards Oklahoma City and got as far as Edmund just short of Oklahoma City itself on the 66. Passed a huge RV centre called Dave's RVS only to pass a few miles later a place called DEANS RVS. How ironic. We did pass Spunky Gorge too but ...

Today we started with a visit to the Oklahoma State Firefighters Museum. A dedication to the service men and women who always put the safety and protection of others first. The museum is devoted entirely to the preservation and display of antique fire apparatus and equipment. It contains a remarkable collection of antique gear, dating back to the mid-18th century, and also holds the first fire station ...

4 States, 1 Day, 99 Smells and a Ton of Sand

... I've been digging sand out of my ears and from behind my ears. The gross part is when I scratch my head and I have sand in my fingernails. I thought I could get by for the day without taking a shower at Great Sand Dunes, but all I've wanted all day is to get that sand out of my hair. I also have it in my eye. I kept putting Visine in it last night, but I still felt it in there. It may be scratched. I kept wishing I would cry, so it would wash ...
