Okay, so today was mostly uneventful to let's see if I can bang out this entry quickly cuz I'm exhausted from that first one.

... in order to keep the chain going around the curve, some of the mules were trained to leap the chain and pull at an angle away from the curve. These mules would step along sideways until the corner had been turned and then get back in line. Very smart! Being replaced by a railroad, they were only used for 5 years but they have a big place in the history of the West.
