One wrong turn in front to the camp ground and it too an hour to get in. Dad and Mom had to disconnect the little car from the tow-dolly then disconnect the tow-dolly from the motor home. Turn the car around and hook the tow-dolly to the car! Mom drove the car into the camp ground and dad backed up the motor home (in the dark; very dark) over a block, turn it around and them we arrived at the camp ...

      - a place to right a name to thank a veteran for their service (two Christmas trees were covered in these tags-- Denis and I added our fathers -- Denis wasn't sure but veterans are veterans and both our fathers fought in wars; mine in WW II and Denis' in the Korean War)

This is open to the public but you need a permit and ID to get in. 19 miles east of Las Cruces there is a White Sands Missile Range Museum that is highly recommended to visit but it was not open on Sunday. The history of our country missile programs and the atomic age are shown through artifacts, displays ...

... Museum of Space History to view their IMAX movie on the Hubble Telescope. Another domed IMAX theater and another extremely interesting movie on this great telescope. Space with its age and size is so hard for me to grasp and the story of this telescope just further boggled my mind! Our next stop (can only drive so much before we become zombies) was at the White Sands National Monument. Here rare gypsum sands form white dunes that rise up to 60 ...

... We enter the "Lone Star State" a little after noon, about 25 miles east of Beaumont. Stopping at the visitors center on the border we find out that it is about 860 miles across the south of Texas. We have a little drive ahead of us! As we let the dog out for a little stretch I am getting eaten alive by mosquitos that are about the size of B-52s! It's back in the car quick so we can head out of here! We ...
