We are winding up our trip to Dallas and have spent the time with Simon and his family. Sunday, Monday and Tuesday has meant beautiful weather with daytime temperatures reaching 21 degrees and very sunny. We have visited a number of parks and done a few good walks. Sunday we went to Lewisville. We miss the coffee shops attached to the parks we have back in Australia. On Monday Steve and Christine went to Grapevine Mills DFO to try and retrieve the taxes ...

This week has been relatively quiet for me. I have pretty much gone to work, and returned home; anything outside of that has been few and far in between. It's the beginning of the year. Today was a trip to a State Park about 1 hour's drive north of Coppell. Whilst most of the drive was along freeways we passed through farming country with horse ranches and cattle before entering the park. The park has many camping sites allowing for walking and ...

... get into the room and once again after several debates with ourselves over whether we could stand being put under the microscope for all to see, we once again headed down to reception.

Vaughan at this time pulled his magic words by saying we felt undervalued as elite members because suddenly a king room was available. Third time up the lifts and down the long corridors where now we noticed that not only did we have one, but two doors to our new room! This was because ...

And so the trip ends. We are now on the plane after our quick night's stay in alejuela. One of the three largest towns in Costa Rica, it is still easily walkable and has a good offering of food and shopping. But it is still a city, and not our Santa Elena and Monteverde. It was tough to saw goodbye to our friends. Sally - with all of her stories from her work around the world with the state department, her great sense of humor and left leaning ...
