I've been very happy with the friendliness of the staff and the comfort of the room I stayed in - the bed was very comfortable and a good, simple bathroom. My room also had a fridge (I'm not sure that that is true in all rooms though) which I was happy about, but would have liked a kettle and mugs in the room also, to allow me to make tea and coffee.

We made it to Cleveland Monday evening and stayed downtown so we'd be closer to the rock n roll hall of fame. We were on a tight schedule and didn't get but an hour to tour which is not remotely enough time. We had tickets to the gran ole opry Tuesday evening so we were going to have to hustle ...

OK so this is my first post on this site.
Here are our stats for today.
Left Oceanport at 8:45am and arrived in Sandusky, OH at 6:45pm.
We traveled 545 miles on I-80 and it was a long and hot ride.
Tomorrow is Chicago which is 250 miles, so an easy ride compared to today.

... that I didn't dent, damage of loose the trailer and bike altogether! The day didn't get much better with a puddle of oil and fork oil under the front tire of the bike. Then while laying on the ground inspecting and cleaning I crushed the remote key fob! A little tape and it worked well enough to start the bike without digging out the spare. A call to the Michigan city Harley dealer and we were on our way to get a replacement. On the way my saddle bag cover came open, but was noticed ...

Hello everyone, I'm sure you're all curious what we've been up to the last few days. It's been a week since our last update. It's been hectic so we haven't really had time to keep the blog updated. Thankfully no major emergencies like health problems or car breakdowns. Just typical struggles with Meyer family "schedule dysfunction" and the ...

On to Cleveland to collect a car

A travel blog entry by stephenshortt on Dec 17, 2014

I flew out of Seattle today to Cleveland, Ohio to collect my new (for me) 1976 Buick Electra.

I now understand why my friends almost fell off their chairs with laughter when I mentioned 'Cleveland' - there is somewhere that can be colder than Seattle, Washington in Winter! When I arrived and walked out of the airport to get a taxi, I felt little flutterings against my face - it was only when I looked into the light of the nearest light that I realized it was lightly snowing!!
