I've been very happy with the friendliness of the staff and the comfort of the room I stayed in - the bed was very comfortable and a good, simple bathroom. My room also had a fridge (I'm not sure that that is true in all rooms though) which I was happy about, but would have liked a kettle and mugs in the room also, to allow me to make tea and coffee.

It's Christmas Day and my present to myself is to be climbing into my car and head'n down the rod to Washington DC - the weather service suggests generally good weather for DC and I have always wanted to go to the Smithsonian, so, as I was so close (400 miles / 600 km) it seemed like a good idea!

But before I do head on down the road - I'd …

... of Notre Dame. En route to the Lourve, we stopped at the Pont Des Art and decided to take some photos with the silly new artwork replacing the areas the 40+ tons of padlocks use to hang from :) We enjoyed the lovely chateau style buildings and many courtyards as we approached the Lourve. We did not tour the Lourve today, but instead decided to take advantage of the sunny, 90* day and explored the Jardin Des Tuleries. What a beautiful park to relax in...we even ...

... a routine, to-do lists and a clean house. Since I start at Hyland on 6/15, I decided to welcome my spontaneous side to this new chapter and enjoy this time between the old/new jobs. Bryan has been referring to this as my "retirement", but I like to think of it as my sabbatical. To learn what, you ask? To learn how to relax :) I'll be traveling to Paris with my childhood friend, Marisa, and her sister, Olivia. Then ...

Due to the impending weather, we decided against heading west into the storm, and opted to go our separate ways to head home from Summerville. No Hillbilly Hotdogs on this trip!

I headed up 19N to 79N to the PA/OH Turnpike. Susanne and Jessika headed north together to take the back roads home.

I stopped at a rest area in Pennsylvania, and was pleasantly surprised that there was ...
