I've been very happy with the friendliness of the staff and the comfort of the room I stayed in - the bed was very comfortable and a good, simple bathroom. My room also had a fridge (I'm not sure that that is true in all rooms though) which I was happy about, but would have liked a kettle and mugs in the room also, to allow me to make tea and coffee.

It's Christmas Day and my present to myself is to be climbing into my car and head'n down the rod to Washington DC - the weather service suggests generally good weather for DC and I have always wanted to go to the Smithsonian, so, as I was so close (400 miles / 600 km) it seemed like a good idea!

But before I do head on down the road - I'd …

They had some very impressive rides, including one that was the fastest and tallest when it was built, and was amazing, although sadly only watched as I can't go on them. We got back quite late and headed straight to bed. We then all ...

And, as is evermore, in the morrow, we shall continue our wanderings towards the City of Wind, on the shores of the Sea of Michigan, the home of the revered animal tribes Cubs, Bulls and Bears, known for all manner of social engagement, limitless entertainments, lavish structures, and a local food baked within a dish of considerable depth. It is with anticipation that our journey passes through this land.

11pm. Parked on a residential street. Jp says we couldn't have driven a minute more! Dinner from a nearby convenience store (cashews and nutty bars). There was a huge, agitated guy in the store talking in grunts. Totally sketch. We ate at a picnic table for Ohio city ice cream. There were some guys hanging out at another table....one of them was talking about how he could eat chips until he ...

It was a large campground and it seemed everyone tooled around on golf carts, we felt out of place with out one :) Parking downtown with a big truck is always interesting. You know the bar that hangs before you enter the parking garage? The one ...
