I've been very happy with the friendliness of the staff and the comfort of the room I stayed in - the bed was very comfortable and a good, simple bathroom. My room also had a fridge (I'm not sure that that is true in all rooms though) which I was happy about, but would have liked a kettle and mugs in the room also, to allow me to make tea and coffee.

It's Christmas Day and my present to myself is to be climbing into my car and head'n down the rod to Washington DC - the weather service suggests generally good weather for DC and I have always wanted to go to the Smithsonian, so, as I was so close (400 miles / 600 km) it seemed like a good idea!

But before I do head on down the road - I'd …

On to Cleveland to collect a car

A travel blog entry by stephenshortt on Dec 17, 2014

I flew out of Seattle today to Cleveland, Ohio to collect my new (for me) 1976 Buick Electra.

I now understand why my friends almost fell off their chairs with laughter when I mentioned 'Cleveland' - there is somewhere that can be colder than Seattle, Washington in Winter! When I arrived and walked out of the airport to get a taxi, I felt little flutterings against my face - it was only when I looked into the light of the nearest light that I realized it was lightly snowing!!

All the staff that are experts in caring for this patient group are all on one particular ward, with easily accessible resources and the patients stay for an intensive programme for a few days that help determine the next course of action in their care. The staff knew 'their stuff', they had positive attitudes towards the patients and the reasons they were there and the patients seemed to respond to ...

Yep, you heard me. Studying abroad ruined my life. The things that I experienced in the past 5 months will never allow me to go back to the life I had before I left, I haven't changed but I have learned so much and become more aware of myself and the world around me that my life prior to this was ruined, leaving me to jump into an even more amazing one. When discussing studying abroad a lot of times you'll hear how great it is to learn about another country or how you ...
