Saturday, July 11, 2015. PCT day 83. Miles 1289.4-1310.4 Today was a tough day for me. For starters, I did not get good sleep last night at the Bratten's (trail angel's) home. There were about 10 other PCT hikers day and I slept in a very uncomfortable bed. I took the 6am shuttle back to the trail and had breakfast there. From the get go, I felt ...

Friday, July 10, 2015. PCT 82. Miles1273.8-1289.4 Last night I was awakened by the most dreadful sound. I heard some hooves stomping and heaving breathing around my campsite. When the rain stopped finally, I found a really nice place to camp on this cliff with an awesome view of the valley below. As the clouds intermittently parted and reformed, the ever changing scenery made for nice entertainment as I had dinner. This is my TV. Tomorrow I make it the Belden, 15.5 miles ...

... The water sources were not that spread out. And even if they were, not a big deal because it had been not hot at all. I made it to the Middle Fork of the Feather River, not realizing how much elevation it dropped. Down to 3000 feet from 7000. This river is nice, with warm water and a nice swimming hole. I am glad i camped here. Tomorrow I have a steep climb out of ...

... Dean's last day of school (we've been home schooling just for the trip) with Wild Cherry Pepsi floats. I was pretty relieved that there was so much to do right there in town and it was all really easy going stuff and best of all everyone was healthy again and Iris was doing so much better. We were still kind of questioning how we should continue on the trip. I think this was also the first time that we started feeling kind of lonely being so far from family and ...
