We have had a wonderful time here with friendly lovely people, marvellous cultural assets and landscapes I haven't had the pleasure of seeing a lot of.     ... the dot on time - we didn't even have traffic ahead of us so we could take off without waiting! There was a scary moment after take off when we were meant to be climbing but we slowed right down and we didn't look like we were gaining altitude... We were freaking descending! Anyway thank god we did eventually get up to our cruising altitude of 40,000 feet. Flight to Chicago was an hour and thirty minutes and it was a pretty smooth one! We even landed ...

The Skydeck observation level at floor 103 opened in 1974, and the glass boxes that jut out from the side, allowing foolhardy tourists with no fear of heights to stand directly over the city street 412 metres below, were only opened in July of 2009.
