Light snow was falling as we departed Utica and rejoined the Interstate bound for Chicago and increasing heavy traffic as the city loomed on the horizon.     ... Walked back past our hotel and found the beginning of route 66. Had a very healthy lunch - splurged on a gelati afterwards as it was very warm.
    Hotel suite has 2 king beds, kitchen, laundry and lots of storage cupboards. is a great place to have as a base.Breakfast was very healthy but could have have muffins and donuts if i had been bad. tried a waffle - make your own fresh. Was quite sweet - did not eat it all.

    We finally get to Navy Pier and take a walk around. There is a mini amusement park there - ferris wheel, flying chairs, putt putt golf. There are also lots of souvenir stores and bars and food areas there. After doing the loop of the place we are in the amusement area and Hinesh thinks it will be fun to play putt putt so we pay the $6 each and line up.
