... By contrast, down by the water are beautiful gardens (named after Queen Victoria) and it is hard to believe you are in the same town. We had a wander along to stand on the ridge of the waterfall and tried to imagine what drives anyone to throw themselves over it in a barrel! A tractor is really a harvesting auto or truck in the past which is used to mechanise agricultural undertakings including tillage. What has changed is the few high rise hotels have taken over from the outdated honeymooner motels. A bit sad really. Most of the motels are nearly empty and a bit (well ...... a lot) warn out. We were able to see the sights without too much trouble ...

... from the top of the falls over the edge and over to the Canadian side! We took photos from the top then decided a trip on the 'Maid of the Mist' would wake us up a bit! We headed down and grabbed our free bright blue waterproof poncho and climbed aboard! I didn't quite realise how close (and therefore how wet) we were going to get but it was amazing being so close! It didn't take long to dry off as the sun came out just as we got off the boat! We went to the other side ...
