The aim today was to drive to the Green Mountains in Vermont - the **** sat nav we've hired likes to take us on long routes so today's drive was 6 hours long! This included driving the length of Manhattan in rush hour in heavy rain and getting lost in a car park. Luckily ...

A motel breakfast like all the others - runny waffles, non-browning toast, solid butter, undefined milk and muffins. The fruit was good though and plentiful.

Debbie and I have talked on the phone from time to time, over the 36 years since we got out of the Air Force in 1978 but... I never thought I'd find myself just 70 miles from her home in Massachusetts!!! She was SO SURPRISED when I called her and asked if we could stop by for a visit!! Spending time with her was absolutely one of my favorite experiences on our ...

Walked across the car park to the 99 restaurant which had a great menu with reasonable prices. I had macadamia encrusted chicken with asparagus and rice, Wes a steak with carrots and baked potato. French fries and coleslaw were not the first options.

After dinner, walked across the road to the shopping centre to buy yoghurt from Big Y. It is a big supermarket which will have what we want for our lunch supplies tomorrow. It has long opening hours 7am to 11pm
