    ... at the Cummins repair shop had RV parking spaces with electric hookup. We were beat. And decided that camping out in the parking lot was our best and only option. Waking up in the morning to the starkness of an empty parking lot in an industrial section of the city was not my vision of how my first morning camping in California would be. However, looking on the bright side....it was FREE! Our next objective, wait for the FedEx truck to arrive with the new fan ...

    ... I think we will take the night off from eating in the RV and go get some comfort food. The food at The Crest was ok. I had the kids burger and could only eat half of it, way too much food. Now I know why we don't eat pub food when travelling. Tomorrow we are headed out for Palm Springs, getting closer to our final destination. It will be nice to stop. ...

    Here is a little background on our backpacking experience as I have some relatives who ask for me to write about earlier experiences.

    Dale and I first backpacked before we were married. We hiked into the Sierra's, a 10 hour hike, over a pass into what is called Evolution Valley.
