So today we left LA and headed north to Bakersfield - random place I know but it is purely just a stop over as we are heading to Monterey tomorrow.
First things first we have to pick up our first rental car - while we are out here we will be having 3 cars in total but changing over on the way. Now I have never driven in the US or even on the other side of the road so this was going to be an eye opener for me to say the least! Stupidly I expected to be told a little about the ...

Happily we settled in, cooked our dinner, enjoyed a long hot shower, and after talking to a few lonely Americans with their dogs, about their ex wives (can understand why), we switched off for the night! ... the Mojave Desert as we head toward Bakersfield. Looking at the weather forecast for the rest of the way home, we know we need to get a move on tomorrow to stay out of snow around Mt. Shasta and Grants Pass. Rather than try to push our way through the dark for hours and hours all night we decide to stop in Rosedale, a little suburb of Bakersfield, because once again we see the "RV Park" sign along the road.

Fun in the sun - not so much

... Sam, I think she regretted offering when she realised how early she had to get up. I arrived on camp where I met the 6 kids I would be coaching - they have the shortest attention spans ever and aren't very well behaved, it felt like the longest 3 hours of my life. I then arrived back to the house and was just about to jump into the pool when Johnny came round to pick up Ashleigh and told me he needed a coach to coach a half day camp and I was the only ...
