So we had another early start, flying out of San Diego at 6:00 am. We arrived in Austin about 11:15 am including 2 hour time zone change (forward). I had pre-booked a car to keep for the day and drive to San Antonio tomorrow, but when we got there the lady told us I had booked it for tomorrow instead - whoops. She was able to fix it up luckily. We went with Avis again - I know I said we wouldn't but they were the cheapest. We hired a Ford Escape, another SUV but also needed a case ...

Luckily for us Ginny’s allows you to bring your own bottle of booze and then sells mixers and ice for a very reasonable $1.50. So Kaitlyn and Christina quickly walked back to their place ...

... 4 stages of free live music, Austin likes to promote itself as the live musical capitol of the world. We then wandered on to the so called market district & not finding much in the way of markets we found a bar to give our feet a well earned rest. Many hours later we couldn't feel our feet so much any more so we headed for 6th street, the party street in need of some food. Being busy as it was with the F1 on it took us a while to find a ...

... The next day we had lunch with Timmy Eaton who was one of Kirk's best
friend's from St. Paul's and also good friends with many of my friends
who went to Randy Mac. We met Timmy in Austin when he came for
J-school. He had been in Austin ever since except for a short stint in
Corpus Christi and was now working for the Austin American-Statesman
covering politics. Unfortunately during our visit he was super busy
