We stayed in 2 adjoining rooms that had recently been remodeled. Very clean though tight quarters for more than 2 people per room. Towels were tiny. Nice staff. Clean grounds.

We steered Rocinante from the Woodlands on 1488 to Hiway 6 to 36 all the way and nary a car did we see. Very peaceful drive it was with green fields abounding. For lunch we stumbled onto Mother Neff State Park using our faithful GPS. Did you know her youngest of nine, Pat,became a Governor of the State and then a President of Baylor University?? He ...

... great time getting caught up on everything going on with them, and had a great dinner.

Thursday, we pretty much just chilled out at the coach, and got the washing done.

Friday afternoon, we went to a local hotel where my 50th High School Reunion was kicking off. We had a great time visiting and seeing folks we had not seen in as many years. Some had changed a lot and others looked very ...

We took the kids to one of the few operational drive in theaters left in the U.S.

Not as awesome as I remember but still fun. The picture was dim and the bugs were plentiful. The weather was perfect though. We didn't have a lot of options so we watched San Andreas.

We drove and drove for hours and only got out once in a smelly truck stop, where I was again called upon to defend the woman of our pack. She always wants to walk around all those big smelly trucks to find a postage size piece of grass where 400 other animals have pee'd and she expects me to go there? At least it's sunny and dry here, I'm sick of all that rain and thunder back ...

... towns dotting the road as well. It was pretty windy all day but luckily, it was mostly a tail wind.

We finally made it to the I-20 and headed east. We stopped at a truck stop to feed Harley and eat dinner ourselves. After a short stop, we hit the road for the last hour of travel to Abilene. We passed a few off-ramps with interesting names. First was Stink Creek Road and a few miles later, Noodle Dome Road. I don't know who names ...
