Ruth needed room to unpack her growing number of soft toys ( Macdonalds freebies plus Enderman of New York and Rabbity) and not have James in her space as had happened in Cape Cod.
Anne wanted a SatNav and was willing to pay for it (Tom had brought maps from UK) Anne was not moving on it.
Tom wanted a car with a bit of oomph as we were going over the Rockies, the Colorado Plain and Death Valley.

Pre-Trip Prep

Both have already jotted down a pre-trip entry, so let's hope they keep up the momentum during the trip itself. They are both really excited for the trip, particularly Javi as he can't wait to see Normandy and the D-Day beaches, being such a rabid war history buff.

... terribly difficult to follow....at all) but somehow towards the end of the day, I was nice and discombobulated.....thinking we were at one portion of the trail, and being completely somewhere else. ... museum of Nature and Science so Zach could once again go to his favourite Space Odyssey exhibit again.

After 1.5 hours in Space Odyssey we managed to get him out and went upstairs to the kids Discovery Zone room which was awesome too. They had an interactive Tornado show, smell tests, real hissing beetles, dinosaur bone archaeological pit, giant puzzles, tunnels, magnets, and a construction zone. He was there another 1.5 hours.
