    Ready for the Adventure!

A travel blog entry by htrude on Jun 23, 2015

It's hard to believe that we are leaving for Italy and Greece tomorrow! I am beyond excited for this trip and cannot wait for the adventure to begin. As excited as I am for the trip, I am not so excited about packing. For one who travels abroad frequently, you would think I would have no trouble packing; however I always procrastinate on packing. No pictures today. The remote to Go Pro died. The ride was generally nice. Started off cool in Ct. and I had to add a couple of layers. I rode 427 Miles today and stopped for lunch. Winchester VA begins the fun part of the ride. Skyline Drive to Roanoke Va. then I jump on I- 81 again to Wytheville VA. Trying Natty Greens English Style IPA from North Carolina. Not bad. More tomorrow and I promise I'll stop for pictures.

A nice combination o Southern elegance and cultural open-mindedness--and at the end of the street is one of the most beautiful public libraries I've seen--a neo-classical pillared entrance with a ...

... to like William, I swear it, but I would have cursed him the whole way up that mountain had I had the breath to do it! Lets just say the boy sets a good pace! I didn't want to be the old whingebag cousin, so I kept up.....to a point. I knew it was time to throw in the towel when my windpipe closed over and I had to get on the old asthma puffer out - hello my old friend, I haven't seen you since I was playing U-14 football with the Fintans! ...
