Fireworks at Motel 6

The rooms at the motel are clean and modern. It has a pool that was so wonderful after our long hot trip today. There was a fresh pot of coffee on this evening in the lobby and the aroma was so wonderful that I had to indulge in a cup. It is the 4 th of July and while we were at the pool, we were treated to a great view of the fireworks going off in the valley below the motel. Very pleased so far.

OK, so you know we arrived here on Monday and here it is Thursday! So what has been going on the past three days?

Tuesday we spent most of the day just sitting around relaxing and watching a few people arrive. Bob & I made our almost daily trip to Walmart for a couple of things, nothing really important. Bob called and made an appointment to have "G/G" washed. That happened Wednesday starting at 9:00. Some of the folks went out to dinner, but we decided not ...

... soooooo boring!!! it seemed like it took forever to get to the point where we left I-10 for US 290. Of course 290 isn't all that interesting either. There were dark clouds gathering and it sure it looked like it was going to pour down at any minute, but no rain. Pretty soon, the clouds parted and the sun was shining, thus making it warmer.

By the time we arrived at the park, I was so tired of riding in a vehicle, I didn't even want to go out to dinner, but I also ...

We also went to a strawberry patch and picked some fresh, huge, out of this world strawberries at Sweet Berry Farms! We thoroughly enjoy ourself at the farm and treated ourself to some amazing strawberry jam that they have for sale there. It was a beautiful ...

... it has inspired and enriched the lives of its neighbors as well as its visitors for centuries.

We started heading home about 3:30pm….now we really hit rush hour traffic for the first time since we started out trip. Not as bad as the Bay Area, but it did slow us down a bit. We took a quick stop at the local Walmart near Bonnie's house to fill up with some gas….since she had a special discount credit card for Walmart she bought us a tank ...

... it been dry this turn wouldn't have been problem but there was a slight ridge of limestone that would have been slippery with the muddy tires and I didn't want to risk crossing it while turning. Even the experts had difficulty with this turn. From there we had a choice of directions to take as long as we looped around two trees and didn't cross our tracks. Here the soil was loamy and didn't give me any problem. Next was a straight run to the exit for us. ...
