    ... some orientation lectures about future events then everyone had to attend the safety drill on deck. This was before the ship even left port. We took in the sail away party on the aft of the ship, there was music, food and drinks. The ship left port at 1700 and we sailed out of San Diego Harbour without any fanfare. We had supper in the Rotterdam which is the main dining room on the ship and had a wonderful meal along with meeting new friends. We walked the promenade deck for 1.6km ...

    Granty went for a run at 7:30am as it was a beautiful morning and I entertained the kids amongst unpacking until brekkie which was when he returned. After a bit of faffing we were ready to go for a swim in the resort pool. I actually let them go and just unpacked some more things and had a nice long shower before joining the gang.     ... It was the only diner that could accommodate 31 hungry bike and builders. We had a great reflection on the trip and a lot of tears were shed, and then we were pumped and ready to finish our last short 20mi ride into Mission Beach in San Diego! We rode against all rules - music, giant mobs, etc and had a great time. We regrouped one mile outside of beach to let Kim, who fractured her arm one week before, get all setup in her recumbent ...
