... reason we gave it a chance. After a couple of ventures into the forests and mountain roads, there isn’t much left on our itinerary, though we’ll manage. We’d be out of here a few days earlier, but the fiasco that erupts as Labor Day weekend makes it hard to find empty camping places. Once the ruckus fizzles away from the small holiday, almost every campground will be next to nothing in camper population.

... eternity. When we finally made it to our hotel at 4:30pm, a very friendly lady greeted us. No cellphone reception yet again. But we did get a good meal and ice cold drinking things.
It was another tough day. Different than our previous day as there were none of those gigantic hills, but the sun was more unrelenting than the day before. Thankfully none of us suffered heat stroke or any other debilitating physical setback that would have prevented us from continuing.
255 miles driving south from Evanston WY through to Utah via the city of Heber before arriving at Beaver. Didn't go into Salt Lake City as it was a bit out of our way - probably should have but we can't see everything.

Our safe word is peanut butter...used it twice: once when Mom thought we were going to hit the clearance sign at the airport, and once when we were looking for a place to eat and Chad copped an attitude. It really does diffuse a situation. Dad gave us the safe word when he called to check on us while we were driving
