... amazed by the competence, or lack of, of the general population. Today was no exception. A few near misses and a bump (none involving us thank goodness) and a huge number of semis, as usual. ... t believe this was a cheap hotel. It was 9am, and there was activity on the beach. Old people mainly. They were down there sunning themselves and walking. There were people as far as I could see in either direction along the beach. Daytona beach is long and flat. Famous for land speed records during the 20s because the sand is well compacted.
