Scenic byways and many miles. We made it from Sheridan Montana to Fairmont in British Columbia. Long driving day but gained two hours to spend somewhere else on the trip. A soak in the hot springs was a good end of the day. The Canadian border crossing was no big deal. We all made it through and Johann had no problems. We will see if it is the same when we try to come back in. We are unsure if they will want us all back ...

always come up as one of my Top Ten Places Visited.

... to spectacular views over the snow capped Rocky Mountain range and the huge scrub grass plains that sit at this mile high altitude. Much of the plains are painted an unusually rich lime green colour where the seemingly endless strings of metal irrigation pipes straddle the otherwise dry ground, causing keen bursts of life beneath. Still very fragile however, this fine balance held and these new shoots that appeared as a result are the lifeline of these highland ...

... had pulled them apart and/or the truck had disappeared down the hill, leaning on the non-existent handbrake! All this attained whilst perfecting my quadbike driving skills, learning to put out electric fence and buzzing around in a whole host of tractors from new and gadgety to old and clonking!

Being around animals is where I have always preferred to be, but if all this preparation work ever got too much all I had to do was glance up at the skyline, ...
