Lots of Lochs
Today we took a tour into the Highlands. We traveled through Callendar, Strathyre and many Lochs (lakes in Scotland).
We had many highlights of historical value, but most notable was Loch Ness. We took the cruise for a chance to spot Nessie. Earliest recorded sighting is said to have been 565AD.

... towards the main road, to catch our bus in front of the post office back to St. Andrews. We almost seamlessly caught our connecting bus back to Dundee and were home in what felt like a matter of minutes. We could not have had a better reintroduction to Scotland than this ramble and we're looking forward to the next one.

Day 173 - 20 August - All around the west side
... and a rather large waterfall inside an inner chamber, which must drain into a subterranean river system before escaping into the ocean. There are rafting tours available further into the cave system but due to the rain they were cancelled through concern about the caves possibly flooding.
A bit further west we stopped at the Kyle of Durness where there were more lovely beaches and coastal scenery.

The passage from Stornoway was bumpy and we had to motor nearly the whole way into the wind. It was blustery, cloudy, dull, cold with occasional rain, mais c'est la vie.
