... a pleasant surprise, a beautiful town, comparable to the size of Ipswich. After lunch we headed out to Falls Park. A magnificent parkland with the Big Sioux River flowing through the centre. The falls formed 14,000 years ago when a glacial ice sheet diverted the course of the river, exposing underlying quartzite leaving what we see today.

... He wants way too much money so we drove in and wisely turned around without missing a beat. About 50 minutes later we were in Mitchell, at the edge of the West. We drove right to the city 's most famous landmark, the Corn Palace. It is a public gym and concert hall which is built in the style if a temple, complete with Russian-style onion domes. Went via the Corn Palace, but it was closed about 5 minutes before we got there. However, the main attraction is on the outside, so all was not lost.
Went to a diner for dinner, and got 2 drinks (no beer, yet again!) They were served in bottling jars, not glasses. Such culture!

Well, not that much to say anymore, but then the tourist part of the journey is largely over.

... br> Once we arrived at our hotel, the kids immediately ran for the room to change into their suits so that they could get in a quick swim. The hotel had a very simple waterslide, but a waterslide nonetheless. At 10pm we were kicked out, so we went to our room for showers and a quick snack before bed.

We are looking forward to seeing Mt. Rushmore tomorrow and some of the other attractions around our hotel in Hill City, SD.
