Had a perfect travel day yesterday. Actually got away early, 8:45, and had beautiful cold clear weather all day. It was only once we got close to Portland that we saw any snow at all and there it was only deep in the bush. But shortly after we stopped for the night the snow started. It looks like we got about 3" overnight. Luckily we're heading south! Had great Chinese food last night. Who knew we'd find it in Maine! Here's what morning looked like - winter ...

Once finished around 100,000 people all of a sudden started leaving the park in every direction and we quickly realised the original plan of catching the subway to Hanover street for dinner would not be the best idea.. 'There isn't a starch I've met that I didn't like'.... the menu sides included fingerling potatoes, fries, roast potatoes, rice, potato salad and mashed potato! They were the only options for sides... no vegetables or anything. Just starch. I had TWIN lobsters for tea! 2 whole lobsters for $37! 2 lobsters steamed are only about 300 calories! Dad you really would love the lobster!! So ...

... we got to Rockport, a seaside port that is just gorgeous. Pretty much deserted at this time of year, with about half the shops and most restaurants were closed. Didn't matter though. The harbour was so peaceful and gorgeous, with little boats and wooden buildings. The shopping areas were beautiful to wander through. Was a very nice walk, but very chilly!! In love with Rockport. Part on the appeal was the fact it was so quiet. I imagine in summer / Autumn ...

... just involve fun, interactive games. We were given these Staff Resource Booklets, which are huge, which we have sessions on everyday to go through separate sections which consist of all the boring stuff like health and safety, various procedures we have to follow etc. but they are all taught in interactive ways which really get us thinking in a fun way. I am finding the whole process slightly intimidating at the moment as most people are returnees which means ...
