A group of us stayed at this motel. We really liked the accommodation - it was neat and clean. The motel was great value for money. The owners were helpful and friendly.

    Wine tasting on Waiheke

A trip to Waiheke Island, off the coast near Auckland, is worth it in itself. But throw in a wine tour at some of the great wineries and you really have a great weekend escape from the city. The ferry journey only takes 35 mins and offers great views of Auckland skyline (due to bad weather and the fact that I already have lots of photos from past …

Shook off most of the jet lag today and woke up pretty refreshed. I'll say this about the Pullman, they make a mean continental breakfast. Since most of our breakfasts on this trip are included I'm feeling an overwhelming need to stuff myself to the point of gastric eruption. Food shaming has never been a serious concern of mine, and the chefs seem only happy to oblige. So, in the spirit of my Hobbit breathren it's back to the eggs ...

    Our Roskill South Kindergarten visit!

A travel blog entry by rdknztour on Mar 14, 2015

10/03/2015We visited Roskill South Kindergarten today. We met the wonderful staff team. One child was quick to introduce himself and welcome us to his Kindy. We were in awe from the moment we walked through the gate. Sunflowers reached higher than the verandah roof and there was a constant chirping of cicadas/crickets. The centre was well organised and the ...

... Lol what to do now, we did a bit of window shopping but again can't believe the lack of shops in the centre. I have located a shopping precinct but is a long way out of town. We settled on walking to the sky tower and having a look. What we are discovering as everywhere Auckland is built on hills so walking to the tower was an uphill slog and finally found it. My, it's high !! I struggled with its height so I respected Steve's acceptance that going up it was not going to happen. ...

... lots of islands and interesting coastline. Arrived at our little Bach that was very cute and spoke to an English bloke who was supping his beer in the front garden of his adjoining Bach.Decided to walk down to Sandy Bay taking a torch on the advice of the English guy. Walked down a path to tiny Sandy Bay and then up another path and down a road to Little Oneroa Bay, very nice. Continued along the coastal footpath passed a pretty church to Oneroa in search of a cold drink and yes we ...
