Monkey Island started as a pile of rocks in the 1960's. It started with the lighthouse and than 2 squirrel monkeys and 3 spider monkeys were added along with a hut. The first island monkeys lasted 12 years and were replaced by younger ones. Today there are 5 spider monkeys on the island. If all goes well we will arrive in New Orleans tomorrow afternoon and plan to be having dinner at Emeril's. While I have been to New Orleans several times, all but one visit has been for business. I'm looking forward to seeing more of the town, outside hotel meeting rooms and the obvious places that cater to mainly out of town business people.
