... entered Illinois. The state line was whilst crossing the bridge. The state sign was again troublesome as it was on the end of a sheer drop so no posing infront. Barry risked life and limb and cycled some place to take our photo by the actual state sign.
Quincy is big (40,000 population) and cycled past some impressive houses. Popped for shake after cycle. Went to Chinese buffet, shovelled some food, back to hotel and well this is where you find me. Digesting. Ahhh
... Mississippi. VERY wet and some flooding here. I took Meatball on a long walk around this extensive State Park. I let him off his leash to have a swim at a small dock area. After clambering up on the floating dock he decided to leap into a boat that was tied up there. That is when he found out that boats TIP. Out he went! Next thing I saw after some splashing was his head swimming for shore. I'm sure that will be memorable!

Got to bed this morning at 2:30a and up at 6a. Lots of last minute things to take care of. Out the door at 9:28a. As we were loading car, Maddie jumped in and refused to get out. It rained last night, so my tent was drenched in the morning. I had to wrap it up wet and deal with it later, because it was overcast and never going to dry. The road was great, and I felt better. Once I got a few miles in, I thought it would be a great day to try for 100 miles. I was blowing through it even with hills. The best part besides the nice wide shoulder was the absence of wind.
