While I did a little cleaning and washing Jeremy and the boys went with pa and Bocks for a walk to the nearby rock. They always enjoy going here to explore and perform on their rock stage. We all enjoyed lunch together before the BOcks headed off for more exploring and home. We went for a walk down the park in the afternoon and had fun playing down there. Earlier night for the boys tonight while the adults played cards (of course - unfortunately the boys won).
Corrigin, Western Australia, Australia drownsroundausHad a good run on the road until we got about 30km out of Corrigin when we heard a grinding noise and got out to discover that one of the tyres on the caravan had bloown then shredded so on a reasonable steep hill we changed a tyre for the first time on the caravan. Probably lucky that we had to change the tyre cause otherwise we may not have discovered the spare wheel holder on the back had started to crack and ...
Corrigin, Western Australia, Australia drownsroundaus... took us on a farm where we saw the process of killing pigs and sheep (sorry any vetetarian friends/family of mine). However it was quite interesting to see and i helped out with the process a bit - none of the killing. Just taking the hair of the pigs, it all was quite a gross experience really! I got a change to sheer a sheep and is so much harder than it looks. We had a BBQ where we ate Pork and lamb, and yes i did ...
Merredin, Western Australia, Australia suziebabe007... no shoulders, and bit rougher. We had about 3 flats - hope this does not keep happening, as we might run out of spare tubes!

The ride today and yesterday brought back memories for me - I lived in Southern Cross for a couple of years (1980-82) - and the towns - Cunderdin, Doodlakine, Hines Hill etc, all reminded me of the countless trips to Perth and back again while I was dating Veronica - what a committed sausage I was!!

Arrived in Southern ...
Southern Cross, Western Australia, Australia gatzby... that did come through missed us. Also the wind was at our backs or from the side - so we flew along most of the time.

The ride was pretty flat and the road good, with nice wide shoulders. We all rode together as one group in single file, with a ute in front with a flashing light, and the bus behind, again with a flashing light, and a big sign at the back - "caution cyclists ahead. Perth to Sydney". Richard in the bus blasts the horn as he sees a vehicle ...

Merredin, Western Australia, Australia suziebabe007Soooo, I made it to Aus. OMG, I'm culture shocked! It's horrible, I miss Asia so much! I've got a job in a country pub. It's real country! I'm slightly shocked at the size of this place. I work in a pub in a town called Harrismith. The town has 3 houses (although I've only seen one) and a pub. The sign when you enter the town says 'Harrismith, we've got it all!) I disagree. The nearest town with a few shops and a supermarket ...
harrismith, Borneo, Australia devilmaycare... with that after she said it was a bit like the Calgary Stampede, but then she mentioned camping. At which point I told her I wasn't going. And so, early on Saturday morning, I was in her car heading to the bottle shop to pick up supplies for the weekend. We'd got in pretty late the night before, so I went to sleep as Michelle and Maggie, her stepmum, happily chatted away. A couple of hours later I was woken up by some serious bouncing ...
