Cons: This hotel room was small, outdated and only had one small window.
Pros: Location (the place is about a block from the cavern entrance), clean, inexpensive.

... adventure, we also made our way to the petroglyphs that are showcased at Washington State Park. These rock carvings are chipped, pecked and ground into the rock and are associated with pre-historic inhabitants of the area dating back to 1,000 AD. This park contains the largest group of petroglyphs in Missouri. The bird-like carving is known as the Thunderbird and was the symbol for rain. Very little is known as to why these carvings were made. It could ...

One nice thing about only having to drive for around 5 hours a day is that you have time to do what you want and not rush doing it :)

When we arrived last night, we read that Cuba was famous for the many murals painted on buildings around town and decided to walk/drive around to see them all before Day 2 on highway. Very informative and fun. Very cute small town. So glad we spent time here!

    Central Time

Driving through St-Louis MO is an exercise of patience: 2 lanes to the left and 2 lanes to the right rejoin later on the same stretch (why?); the design of this humongous maze and amalgam of freeways, overpasses and highways all fighting to get over each other and supporting tons of impatient drivers focused on getting home for a beer and the 6 o'clock news, at all price, is quite ugly. ...
