We were up at 6:30a.m. and left the hotel before 8:00a.m. We made it to Toledo by 5:00. We were in our driveway before 6:00p.m. after a trip to the grocery store. All animals are alive, well, and happy to see us! Now the fun part of cleaning out the car:(
Yes, we would leave tomorrow and do it all over again if we could! There were a few meltdowns along the way, but the laughter and experiences far exceeded the not-so-fun times.
... of that one! We spotted a Dairy Queen on the way back to the hotel, so we got a small hot fudge sundae . . . just enough!!
I gassed up the vehicle and picked up some bottled water, then back to the room to relax . . . charge all the devices, and update this blog!! On the highway we get 27 miles to the gallon with the 2010 Flex . . . even with all of the slow going . . . we still managed 26 mpg! Gas factors out to about $4.70 a gallon!
... where the houses are separated by acres, I noticed the house numbers didn't make any sense, at least to me. We traveled about five miles down this one road where there were only a handful of houses, but the numbers on the mailboxes were five numbers long. Odd, I thought. There aren't that many houses on the road. Must be a Michigan thing.
Yesterday we we drove all over, ...
... the kindly trucker behind us had worn thin and sudden loud horn blasts were lobbed at the morons in the RV ahead of him. Almost in unison, the entire RV, hurled a friendly round of expletives back to him and with that we were on our way! Realizing that I could no longer navigate, and do my regular poke of the driver and question of "you okay?" with my eyes slamming shut, I asked the Machine to consider pulling off at the next ...
... oddly enough, a fully stocked liquor store.
Tomorrow, we are heading into Ann Arbor for the day. We will drop Fox off at Doggie Daycare and visit the University of Michigan campus. It should prove to be educational!
Bye for now and stay well.
