    I now officially have a trail name!
    For those who don't know, a trail name is often given to long distance hikers in the US, particularly those attempting big sections of the PCT or Appalachian trail, It makes it easier to identify people and is part of the whole culture. I've wanted one for a long time.

    ... It was a Nevada State park, so you have to pay $12 for parking ($10 for Nevada residents). And it can be very crowded during weekend. The gate will be closed once the parking lot is full. So it's best to be there before 11am or after 3pm during weekends. There are however some roadside parking outside the park, but you do have to walk quite some distance to get to the park.

    ... in a routine of climbing a mountain pass a day (usually 2-4k ft of elevation gain) and then dropping down into a valley on the other side. It is quite spectacular as nearly every pass has at least one alpine lake near its summit. These lakes dump out into the next valley in a torrent of beautiful water falls and gushing rivers feeding more lakes. This is a water wonderland. Alas the mosquitoes are thick and any amount of time lingering is paid in blood.

    ... not easy to get around bycar except for the main road. I wouldn’t like to be here in peak season, summer or winter. Lake Tahoe has quite a few ski fields too.

    A very lazy day today. We took a drive about midday back to have a look at Emerald Bay, very nice, further round to the eastern side of lake Tahoe to Meeks Bay another nice little bay with lovely campground.
