    One a trip organized by the Mount Holyoke Outing club, I climbed my first hike ever! Day one we climbed Owls peak, approximately a 4 hours hike. Day 2, we climbed Mt. Phelps (the 36th/46th highest peaks in the Adirondacks) took almost 8-9 hours. It was certainly worth the view at the top, more so at Owls Peak due to the foliage. Although, Mount Phelps truly felt like an accomplishment with it being such an excruciating and long hike. ...

    ... the lake. We borrow a paddle boat and cast off into the new day. Fog hovers on the lake surface. We are the only noise. We stop and could hear a dew drop. Paddle paddle. Stop.     ... on gravel, back roads, but I opted to ride to the river and check out the closure. Thankfully, the Boonville road crew let Surly and I pass.
