... pot noodles seem to be what people live on here so if you can't beat them...join them. The bathroom was small and scruffy so we didn't shower for 2 days! It was soooo cold too, so we slept fully clothed with our hats on in twin beds. No joke. I think the boat experience would of been better if we visited in warmer weather. ... the following day (11th January). We had dinner in a local restaurant called, "Uncle", which was good. Noodles with onion, bean sprouts and brocolli for me, but a rather bland fried rice dish for Mr H, who is playing it safe in advance of our travel day tomorrow!
Feeling more positive about our trip to Xi'an, and will report more from there - hopefully in a cheerier state of mind!
