... for over five months-countless times on the trip, Maura and I wistfully longed to visit with J & P. We missed sharing our life with them! And now, we were moments away from a two night stay at their cozy Heath home.
In Fiske fashion, Jo and Phineas greeted us with balloons and banner:
"Welcome Back To Mass, Intrepid Travelers!"
      Hugs all around, ...

... interstate. As we headed West on The Mohawk Trail, we stopped to gawk at the view from the historic hairpin turn next to the Golden Eagle Restaurant in Clarksburg. I was stoked after I saw their opulent 24 hour fitness center and read the ...

Then back into North Adams before climbing up to the highest point in Massachusets, Mt Greylock (almost 4000 ft up), with views ...

... of which Rockwell’s illustration so remind me.

I became aware of Norman Rockwell in 1989 on a fall leaf-peeping trip to Vermont with my parents when we stopped at a Norman Rockwell museum outside Rutland. I was a very small museum of his illustrations and not the official one, but I was quite fascinated by it. Only in recent years did I become aware there is a much larger museum in Stockbridge, Massachusetts on the grounds of Rockwell’s ...

      Stockbridge - Norman Rockwell Country

Of all the quaint and cutesy towns in the Berkshires, Stockbridge may well be the most photogenic. Maybe that's partly because its Main Street was immortalized by Norman Rockwell in a Christmastime illustration that still looks almost exactly the same today as six or seven decades ago. Norman Rockwell is especially associated with Stockbridge since he had his ...
