... guard took the paperwork while a second one was opening trunks and checking the undersides of vehicles with a mirror on a stick. We didn't have a trunk so she poked around the bed of the truck. There was a tense moment when she came up with one of our diamond willow sticks, but the guard behind the glass recognized it as diamond willow and said, "It's ok." Whew. No threatened arrests, no bribes were necessary, and we were soon rollin' down highway 15 in Montana.

Asking why, the answer was: "Because this is a museum!" I left without any
further comment. The many other museums, I visited, had no problems with my
bare feet, and, generally speeking, Malta is very barefoot-friendly:
Many Maltese are spending most of their time barefoot. I've even seen many

On the 26th of July we began our trek home from Jasper. We headed south over the Icefield parkway giving us a little different view of this road. The waterfalls were lush and flowing, the river the color of milk, and we saw people high up on the side of the mountains sleding on the ice. We left the National Park and returned to Cocrane to spend the night at Bow's River Edge again. This gave us the opportunity to catch up on laundry, access our e-mails and ...

We want into parts of Montana that all you could see for miles and miles was flat farm fields without any trees, then we ran into rolling terrain w/ trees. We could see the mountains to the south of us. We saw alot of antelope along the road.
According to the GPS we are 1360 miles from home.
There is also a Devon, Montana. It is a very small town just north of HWY 2.

But do you think Santa is lounging on a hammock in the Bahamas during the off-season? No, ho, ho. As every kid on the Hi-Line knows, Santa summers in Malta, where he spends at least an hour a day responding to ...

The central location included easy access to a Dairy Queen, train tracks and an abandoned parking lot. With all these luxuries, we couldn't help but make reservations for our 50th anniversary . Next stop, Glacier National Park!
Malta, Montana, United States ringsven... Jump Tour We planned our first stop to be in Havre at the Wahkpa Chu Buffalo Jump. It seemed early to us at 1:30pm, but the last tour had been led out a half an hour before we arrived. From the entry overlook we could see the lay of the land and how the Indians would have stampeded the bison over the cliff. Probably got them started over by the WalMart and then pushed them across US-2 between ...

Nice campsite, with a train about 100 yards away. I think a train went on every hour. But after spending some time in the pool and hot tub the previous night, I still had a good sleep.

For the next 4 days Craig, Eric, Carl (whose batchelor party we were celebrating) and I forged new frontiers through the park taking in high passes between mountains, crystal-clear lakes, glaciers of course and last but not least rain.
