Trentham, Victoria, Australia alessa...

Trentham, Victoria, Australia alessa... I got to see them in the wild. First a little baby one and then it's mother. Let me stress that there are MANY people in Australia who have never seen this. Most people who have only get a quick glimpse and then they run away because they are nocturnal. We got to sit there and watch them for a good 15 minutes (yes I have pictures!). Going back to the Koala, they sleep for 20 hours day so me being able to see them awake and moving about so closely was also a VERY rare treat ...
Hobart, Tasmania, Australia icn06... heavy bag without any snide remarks. So. They've been family to me here, and I have to think that we'll run into each other again. So, to everyone: thanks for making Melbourne so hard to leave. I'll miss you... And just for the record: I have finally seen The Castle, or, er, "The Carstle", after hearing about it over my entire time in Oz. And yes, I got the jokes. In fact, I laughed pretty much solid all the way through. Good stuff.

Melbourne, Australia semperfelix... good at that, for a bloke. Met up with Anna, who I'd previously met in Katherine and Darwin, and she ran into Katherine from Coober Pedy and Darwin days. Crazy to bump into people in such a crowd, but it was great to see them again. Ended up on Jack & Shelby's couch, nodding off in my tea, but we did make it out for a beer to cap off the day. Great to come back to Melbourne to a group of friends. Good value. Yesterday was then the start of real life here in ...
Melbourne, Australia semperfelix... sequence was spectacular as all the 'animals' gathered on stage, dancing to the rhythm of the African drums. It was very entertaining. And it continued in the same vein for nearly 3 hours, until Simba did eventually become King. All the stars received rapturous applause, and rightly so as they'd put on a great show. It had been a busy day, and I was looking forward to the luxury of a sleep in the next morning - something of a rarity since I arrived in Melbourne. I could ...
Melbourne, Australia richAnother lot of photos from more visitors, this time my mum and dad. We're really enjoying having them here to show them our new home (I mean our temporary home before Morag has kittens!) Been really busy every day doing loads of stuff, we had a night away at Apollo Bay on the ocean road cause it was too long the week before with Anne and the gang. Had a great night in a wee log cabin ...
Melbourne, Australia the_uytmans... challenging since there was no red phone booth in the room for privacy. The receptionists must've thought I was a smoker since I went outside for 5 minutes each lunch break to talk to my many recruiters. Approximately 6 recruiters, actually. They, and the many interviews they put me through, were part of the character-building process. I felt I had sufficient character, but my dad says you can never have too much. And, since my last interview was circa 1998, it was good practice for ...
