A long day planned. Checked out of the hotel just before 10.00 leaving our cases with them and took a taxi to Sun Studios. The hotel got us a private taxi who, as soon as we got in the car asked us to get out as he had a call for a better job taking people to the airport. Found a proper taxi straight away and he told us we should never get into a private hire car as they often don't have liability insurance and with no meter, charge a lot more ...

Graceland today. We went to the welcome centre where BB and the King are presented in statuary. Vivian wins the prize for most no nonsense visitor centre personnel. Leila: As we departed from the Drury Plaza Hotel we headed onto Memphis, TN. We arrived at the National Civil Rights Museum - Lorraine Motel where Dr. King was assassinated. We were ushered quickly inside to begin our tour. It started with a film on the beginning of slavery until Dr. King<s assassination. We were then on our own to tour. There were sculptures of slaves as they must have been squeezed on the ship with their ...

        20 dollars for a sandwich

... rocked up about 9ish, it was a huge festival full of heavily securitized tents and gazebos that had private parties of said bbq cooks that were invite only. This meant that the 3 of us, along with thousands of other people, were left walking around in a massive circle, eating 10 dollar sandwiches from the general food wagons, and drinking 10 dollar plastic cups of beer, looking wantonly on at other people having a good time, whilst occasionally trying to charm our way in to places ...
