Today has rained or drizzled all day - but being British we carry on regardless and make the most of it and we did. Before heading down the Peninsula towards the Bay of Plenty we visited Cathedral Cove - only accessible by either boat or walking along the headland for 30 minutes - well worth the walk. ... subjected to ‘wind the bobbin up’ and ‘Incy, wincy
spider’ for 3 hours. Guess I won’t be doing that again. Anyway as we got closer
to Rotorua the vomit smell became masked by the sulphurous egg smell. Not sure
which I preferred. Amy was pleased with my choice of motel and as we went off
to find the swings and slide, Daddy was heard enquiring about laundry
facilities, a bargain at $5.

... to the Skytower, the Auckland landmark and reputedly the tallest building in the southern hemisphere. The kids liked the glass floored lift which takes 40 seconds to get you to the viewing deck. You get great views of night time Auckland. There's even a walk called the Skywalk which you can do on a narrow metal platform around the outside. Today was a busy day in Rotorua... we sort of got up early, well 9ish which is pretty early! We eventually set off to find the street luge place...a quick drive through Rotorua and we were there... it seemed pretty grey so we made a brief stop at McDonalds, hoping the sun will come out by the time we are done... Our luck was in!

We got to the sky ride gondala and it started to drizzle, typical....anyway a quick ride to the top and we were ready to play ...

... our heads above water until the next break (we break every 2 and a half hours for 15mins) where we can catch up to the machine belts and clear the mess.
