    ... stories we had heard, we never thought it would be as bad as it was. It was difficult to see anything flying in, and we couldn't even see the blue sky. It has improved over our time here though so we must have arrived on a bad day.

    The roads are in such bad condition for a city of LA's size. It's like driving in Christchurch after the earthquakes, excepting everyone does at least 10mph over the speed limit in most areas, but more like 20mph on the freeways.
