I did not actually meet Louis until the later part of orientation this semester. First impression of him was that he was a refined French man. Very tall, skinny, and well-spoken.

To my surprise, he spoke Chinese excellently when we were on our Yunnan trip. I was in his home stay in the Yi village. He spoke with the daughter of the house without any language barriers.
