... with prices starting at about £20 for a night. We managed to find a good one on Venice Beach which is a great location and not too far from LAX. After a 7 hour Greyhound journey we arrived in Downtown LA where we had to get 2 public buses to get to our hostel. ... Was very cool. Then did the Shrek 4D experience, the technology is amazing. And we finished with a special effects show where they show you how they do special effects which was a good insight. It was a full day that we really enjoyed and we did manage to stop for a Chilli Cheese Hot Dog - which totally redeemed the American Hot Dog experience from our New York try.

Last day we headed to Flake again for breakfast then it was time to head to LAX to fly up to San ...

... as you can imagine - not the best feeling in the world. There was no overhead storage space so we had to have our bags by our feet. This wasn't so much a problem for Dais but I had a huge holdall to shove down. The flight from Hawaii to LA was only five and a half hours and there was turbulence most of the way and most of the way we slept.
