        The dodgy side of Vegas

Not quite the place to go for a stroll...but the best we could muster on this holiday weekend. The other side of Vegas gave us an, er, authentic? Experience!

Today we really went into the desert on road to Las Vegas. We made lots of stops and saw cool things along the way. Daniel At the desert discovery centre I saw giant ants... So I stayed away from them thank you very much. Baby jaguar spotted a lizard so she snuck up to it and got really close before it skedaddled away. There were desert tortoises, …

September 30th DAY 14 Panguitch UTAH
We started the day with a hot breakfast supplied by the hotel (one of the best hotel breakfasts we have ever had!). Carson got to get some basketball in which was a blessing when the day ahead was going to be mostly spent in the truck. We ventured off toward UTAH and the terrain went from mountains to desert like, to canyons, back to desert like, then a combination of pure rock faces and ranch lands. We were amazed by ...

... a big show getting ready to set up, and they were kicking everyone off Fremont street, so we left. Of course we took a few eye-fulls of the no-so-proud people who do interesting things for some money! Can't go to Fremont Street and not take in some of those "sights".... problem sometimes is, you can't UN-SEE them! hahaha!

So, our plan was to leave Vegas today for a few days at the Grand Canyon, and return Wednesday for a couple more days ...

This morning we had to wake up early for our trip in a helicopter over the Grand Canyon. We met in the hotel lobby and caught a coach to the helicopter centre. When we arrived we checked in, watched a safety video and then were called to our designated choppers. Everyone was so excited. The view from the helicopter was amazing. You could see right to the bottom of the canyon and had such a unique view of this natural wonder. It was a completely different sight compared to the North ...

... any longer so we figured if they charge us for a cleaning fee, so be it. We still had the pillows and the wine glasses, so they were thrown in the bin, except I didn’t want the pillows to go to waste, so I left beside the bin just in case a homeless person may have come across them. I hate throwing things out like that when I know they can go to someone who really needs them, especially the homeless in this country.

We drop the car off and they don’t even care ...
