    ... were long buildings with little rooms with nothing but the instrument and a stool or chair and concrete walls. Cold in the winter if they can even be used then! The grand stage for performances during the summer is called The Bowl and it is HUGE and it’s outdoors! There are more than 600 performances by students, faculty and distinguished guest artists each year, making Interlochen one of the nation’s largest arts presenters. What fun to get to see ...

    ... of shrimp and clams. Unfortunately, on the way back to the RV we hit a deer and it did some damage to the front of my car. We can still drive the car. It will have to wait to get fixed until we get home in November. The deer it did not fare so well.

    ... about 12 inches in diameter.  The log was bisected by three chainsaw cuts that cut through about 3/4 of the log's length, dividing it into six separate sections.  A firestarter was inserted into the center of the log.  When Mike lit the firestarter, it quickly began to flame from the center and burned very nicely for almost two hours.  While the log burned, we ate dinner and visited.  By nine o'clock, Cindy and I had retired to finish packing the trailer ...

    ... up the hill to the truck to get Mike's chair. Cindy and I wandered through some of the shops on the northern end of Bridge Street, especially the Taffy Barrel, where my wife loaded up with enough taffy to last a very long time. After meeting back up with Chris and Stephanie, we stopped off for the obligatory ice cream cone before again parting ways.
