      As it happened, we did not attend the last day of the conference due to unforeseen circumstances. We spent a fairly quiet day; we did tour Little Rock a bit more. We found the Little Rock Central High School site (still a working high school).       ... zillions of years ago). We didn’t find any, just some cool rocks, but they average a couple of small diamonds per day found by park visitors. There was a nice trail to the Little Missouri River with an overlook where you could see a few teepees across the water. By far the best place we’ve stayed so far!

      I'd say this is what we were hoping for when we planned this trip, and it feels good.

      What a day. We planned to break camp early and head to Crater of Diamonds State Park. According to Google Maps, it should be just under 4 hours. But when everything goes wrong on the road, it actually takes 7 hours! Here’s a rundown of the drive:
