Unbelievably, a shift of wind caused the Rim fire smoke we avoided in Yosemite to make its way south, all the way to Kings Canyon creating a haze over the park. ... moments. This trail ran along the river that the falls feed into & is right next to this huge sheer rock mountain. Gorgeous. I met another family, these ones from Florida & I walked w/them at some points. Along the way, I found 3 baby chipmunks that were squeaking & squawking at each other as they weren't together & mom was no where to be found. Hopefully they found their way home before dark! Or some owl is eating well tonight.
