... consists of Mari-the baby and the forgetful one, we have to keep tabs on her at all times; Liz-the sassy teenager...she always gives us attitude and sleeps a bit too much for the average person; Danny-the laid back Dad, she gets along easily in any situation and makes peace; and Me, I'm the controlling Mom, I like to call the shots and give directions...who knew. Anyway, our family is very functional here in New Zealand. We figure we are about the best/strangest mix of American girls ...
Wellington, Wellington, New Zealand fierce4nz... Reisling, Pinot Noir and Sauv Blanc were all decent. Will also head to some vineyards around Nelson / Marlborough over the next few days. Have the ferry to the South Island booked for 8.25am tomorrow.
Final thoughts on North Island - a fascinating place, visually similar to Scotland and Ireland but a tad more spectacular, eg lots of volcanic activity (and sheep, of course). Met a good bunch of people, both locals and travellers and felt quite at home.
... were still there. However I did dress up as Aragon and have elf ears and a bow and arrow and blond wig on.
Also visited a museum which was okay as it was free. The best day weather wise we all went up the skylift and visited the botanical gardens. Which was actually good fun. Some good Acer trees there.
Had some crazy nights out here and the staff at the reception did not want me to leave and even said that they would not sell me a boat ticket to leave!
... for the city centre early enough after checking in and started with some food to start us for the day. There was a good buzz in the city due to the game that night. Whilst having the food who walks in with his wife and kid but all black Joe the rocket Rockococko- the whole place went quiet wondering at first was it him ... but it was. He had his back to us so only got snaps of him from behind but was great seeing him kitted out in his gear and just relaxing ...
... br>My un-Hollywood style ambition was to watch the hurricanes vs. the blues in the super 14s tournament match. The tournament is between South African, Australian and New Zealand teams, 14 teams in fact, see what they did there.
I supported the hurricanes because they were the home team. They won but both teams often seem to forget how to tackle which is odd because I bet they practice alot. There was though as ...

Wellington, North Island, New Zealand silvi1101Hello from Wellington, the capital of New Zealand! We got here yesterday and met Ginny, who was once my camp counselor at the Beaverkill and is a great runner. She once ran the Boston Marathon with Mom. She is visiting us for two weeks from North Carolina, while Dad is in Switzerland for 12 days skiing with Wyatt's dad and some other guys. I was very sad to say goodbye to Dad yesterday after being together for months and months. It is strange not to ...
Wellington, North Island, New Zealand zolab... the Waipohatu Forest which was truly amazing. I felt like Nora the Explorer! It was a path carved through a very dense rain forest that was very steep in places and also very muddy in some. We also had to walk across streams so by the time we'd finished we were mud up to our ears but it was so worth it! The trees canopy was so thick that it was like walking in the gloom with just little rays of sunshine coming through and there was a huge variety of ferns ...
Waikawa, South Island, New Zealand maxnstan... he seemed to come over to the coast as if to say hi to us. I have a nice video of me talking rubbish to the sea lion. He was without doubt my favorite sea lion. There were also some huge waves crashing up on the rocks on the beach that we played around with... trying to get pictures without getting wet. We were not always successful in this! Curio Bay is also home to a ...
