    Our ride today was a beautiful one. It was sunny but cold when we got up in Ely...the windshield washing water was iced over when I got gas at about 10:00 AM. The night was quiet and we kept toasty warm in the cozy Pearl.

    We spent our first night of our adventure quietly and uneventfully at the Truckee River RV Park. The next day we travelled on Hwy 50, the Loneliest Hwy in the USA. This Hwy is very well named. We practically had the two lane hwy to ourselves as we passed through the vast valleys between mountain ranges that is characteristic of the Great Basin area.
