... It wasn't as good as home, but it was exactly what I needed! Perfect road trip food! A few more hours on the road, and we made it into Wichita, Kansas. When we left Houston, it's was sunny and 95 degrees. In Wichita, it's night and 59 degrees. Looks like I'm going to bust out the jeans tomorrow! We will have about six more hours to Denver before we meet up with another high school classmate for a weekend of Broncos ...

... time at the museum looking at the temporary gallery called "World War II, Remembered: Leaders, Battles, & Heroes." I took a few pictures and we could see that if you were a WWII buff, you could spend days here. It was very detailed and had lots of information to absorb if you had the time. ... says it got its name from Wichita being the Air Capital of the World. Really??

We spent some "quality time" this evening at a Dillon food store - a chain which is owned by Kroger. Other than that, we didn't do a whole lot, as it was late afternoon before we arrived and got set up. All in all, not much to report!

After lunch and fueling up, we drove though part of the area that was so devastated by the tornado just a little over three years ago. We were through Joplin about a month after the tornado hit in 2012, and could not believe at that time the scope of the devastation. It looked like pictures ...
