We had no idea we'd be 12 miles from most of the Parks in Disney, and that Disney itself was 40 square miles! Do not stay here
I stayed 5 nights in Dec. 2003. I reserved a room through the internet and they did not have my record. The man in the desk was not kind. Somehow we got a room which smelled really bad and was dirty. The next morning a man who stayed there the previos night visited for something he left and advised us to change to other room as he did. We asked another room and moved. The same bad smell but it was on 2nd floor so we could open the window. The breakfast was not bad but they refused to give one more cereal to my kid. At 3rd day, they suddenly changed the breakfast time and lots of people could not have breakfast. It was around 40$ per night. Next time I would spend 10 more bucks for better stay. I have stayed about 10 inns and motels every year and this was the worst of them.
i went to florida and stayed at Days inn eastgate. it was the best hotel we stayed at. i mean it was at a reasonable price. had clean rooms and a big pool. all the basic amenities u need to have a great vacation are at this hotel. i admit its not the fanciest hotel on earth. but it has ur basic needs.what more do u expect for the price ur paying. its worth staying at. its convienient very close to disney and all other attractions. the maid sevice is pretty good. i didn't have any problems staying there. i encourage more people to stay at days inn eastgate. if u want a cheep hotel, near attractions, with all basic amenities then this is the place to stay. you do get ur money's worth at days inn east gate. besides who wants to spend there time sitting in a fancy hotel. when people go to florida for the attractions.
The worst hotel ever
Days Inn Eastgate was the worst hotel I have ever stayed, the pool was broken, and the workers at the hotel made excuses of when it would be done, and that it wasn't done yet. The house keepers sold money from the drawers, which they should not have been in the drawers at all. They watched t.v. on the job and would be touch the radio on the alarm clock. Then when we were going to leave, they did not give a discount, being that the pool wasn't working and the family could not go swimming and the kids were not happy with that, then having the housekeepers taking money. Over all the hotel sucked really bad, the service was really bad, not enought towels in rooms. I wouldn't have anyone stay there, so when your going to a hotel down in orlando, do not stay at Days Inn Eastgate!
March 26-31, 2004. Room 146. 2 adults. The shower water heat was low by 8:30 am. Not intolerable; but not very enjoyable. Two of the four incandescant light bulbs were initially burned out. Housekeeping took care of this in two days. The swimming pool was not heated--should be OK by May. There was a constant drip/leak from the tub faucet, although not audible enough to prevent sleeping. Bathroom otherwise nice with tissues and a hair dryer, as well as the expected towels, etc. The 2 double beds seemed clean and upkept. 20" TV with cable. The room was clean with nice carpeting. The "continental breakfast" was quite good: individual cereal boxes, milks, fruit juice, coffee, fruit, danish, and fruit bars (like long fig newtons). They also had individually wrapped saugage biscuits which could be microwaved in the nice large dining area. Half of the days we were there they also had hard boiled eggs which, when sliced, made a cute egg-saugage "McMuffin"-type product.
Me and my husband visited Disneyworld, for 4 days end of March. We booked through the internet and basically wanted someplace cheap,clean and comfortable and were delighted to get a place for $39 a night just a few miles from Disney. We didnt really care for any frills as we would hardly be there in the hotel.On our arrival, we were given a room with a broken down AC and strange pubic hair in the bathtub.Mercifully,we were given another room, and a musty smell greeted us.The sheets and bed also felt damp. The bathroom was basic, with some broken tiles and a lone bug.The AC was more like a fan.All rooms were supposed to have a m/w and a fridge - hell, why am I even talking about that stuff.We tried to get a refund, but the receptionist told us that we should consider ourselves lucky that we didnt have a water and electricity problem.We had no choice but to stay. The only demand we had left was an iron and inspite of calling and asking at the front desk innumerable times, all we managed was an iron board without the iron..HA! Overall the experience was dreadful and we have sworn off ALL days inn. We've learnt our lessons,and are willing to pay a bit more even if its just for a night of sleep.Avoid Days inn eastgate, like the plague, take a leaf off our book !!
We went during spring break to Disney and made a reservation at Days Inn East Gate. After a 45 minute wait to check in (looks like a travel agent svs had overbooked the hotel) we stayed in a room that was abysmal.
Eastgate does not deliver on its promises
Our trip was ruined by the management of this hotel. We are still disputing the price of our stay through our credit card company. We reserved a deluxe room that promised a refrigerator and a microwave.
The only way we could afford this trip counted on eating in, using food we brought with us. When we arrived, there was no fridge or microwave available. We had to eat out. Yet, we were expected to pay the price of a "deluxe room" ! The management kept promising to have the appliances for us "soon". Instead of enjoying ourselves with our childrem I kept going to the front desk asking for what we were promised. Needless to say, the appliances never materialised. The rooms themselves were what we expected for the price, but the management was abyssmal.
Okay, if you want an inexpensive place to stay that is near Disney then this place is for you. We tried it last year after basically pulling them out of a hat. We knew we wanted to go to Disney for vacation but did not want to spend all of our money on a place to stay. Everyone is different but we take the approach that we are on the move everyday all day and all we want is a place to sleep at night. This is a HOTEL, not a resort! We booked online last year and got a very good rate, less than 30 bucks a night. We were so pleased that we are staying there again this year. It's a room with a bed, a tv, vanity sink, table and chairs. Nothing more. I mean what do people expect for that kind of price? I am on vacation to do things, not vegetate in my room! Don't get me wrong, the rooms are clean and nice but nothing to write home about. If you want the resort treatment then you pay the resort price, if you want a no thrills, clean place to stay then this is for you. This way we get to spend more money on food and goodies!
We stayed here during our recent trip to Disney...not a good thing. The place is very clean and looks good, but the service was good until you needed help, and then things changed, big time.No remote for the TV, the lights in the room and in the bathroom kept flickering off and on as if the bulbs were about to go the whole time, no iron during our stay...whew...it was interesting. After our initial check-in, we went to our room, complete with all our very heavy, very full suitcases, only to find that when we opened the door, someone else was DEFINITELY occupying the room. Clothing, suitcases, personals all around, and thank God, no people. We quickly closed the door and began the long trek back to the front desk and got our second room assignment. That worked out well for the first night, and then on the second night, our card keys no longer worked and we were locked out of our room. When we went to the front desk, we were told that the clerk wasn't supposed to check us in last night because there was no proof of payment (even though we'd paid for six full nights before we even left our home state on our way to Florida). No help from the front desk. She gave us the complimentary Days Inn Book (the one that lists all the Days Inn Hotels in the area) and told us to call around on our own. No help, no aid, just here's the book, find your own phone and get to calling. Finally, we found a room down the street at the OTHER Days Inn, got permission to get our stuff out of the room and relocated. Best move we made that whole week. The service and the help that we received at the Days Inn Maingate East (just one mile down the street) was absolutely wonderful. They put the staff at Days Inn Eastgate to shame with their helpfulness, their availability and their dedication to their customers. I won't make the same mistake again...we will never stay at the Days Inn EAstgate again. Thank God for places like the Days Inn Maingate East to help out of towners in a fix!
Days Inn Eastgate- No Better Place For a Family Place
The Days Inn Eastgate was a wonderfull hotel with friendly peole and great service it was extremely clean and the pool was great. I am glad we stayed there while visiting Disney World.
